The Saptarishi Awards

The Satapata Brahmana and Brihadaranyaka Upanishad and other scriptures acknowledge the greatness of seven rishis (or Saptarshis) : * Atri * Bharadvaja * Gautam * Jamadagni * Kashyapa * Vasishta * Vishwamitra

Just as these seven sages are honoured by everyone, we take this opportunity to honour seven pioneers, now living, who have spread the message of Yoga in its authentic forms, throughout the world. As participants in the world-wide Yoga revolution, you are invited to nominate those whom you think fit for the award. Please send us an e-mail giving details of the person(s) you wish to nominate for the Award, together with reasons for your choice. We look forward to hearing from you!

The Chakra Awards

In addition to the Saptarishi Awards, Yoga Alliance International proposes to honour teachers and Centres who have focussed on the various chakras.

 

Other Awards

In addition to the Saptarishi and Chakra Awards, Yoga Alliance International proposes to honour other key-players in the on-going Yoga Revolution. We propose to honour, regardless of affiliation to any particular school of Yoga, the best:

  • Yoga Schools
  • Yoga Centres
  • authors of Yoga books
  • musicians connected with the Yoga movement

    Nomination Procedure

    Nominations will be accepted only from all Registered members of Yoga Alliance International. Remember, Registration is free - so, if you haven't registered already, do so now! Nominations can be made through e-mail for all the awards. Please specify the Award for which the Nomination is being made and briefly explain the reasons for your choice. Final decisions on the awards will be made by Yoga Alliance International.
